2 Pedal Getaway was formed in late 2009. Our music crosses over genres from reggae, punk, rock, and blues, with crisp sound, tight rhythm, and a story line which immediately captures your attention. 2PG’s debut EP shows a flavor of reggae rock, which is new and unexpected to the Detroit scene. Rhythmic guitar hooks, rolling bass walks, and smart attack of percussion overlay a brand of everyday tragedy to give their dark story lines an undeniable groove. Raised in the Detroit metro area among the industrial working class, the subjects of their music will give you a glimpse into their world of tragic humor, and a reason to smile even when times are tuff. Formed from the bands Mixxle Plix and Inspoken Tragedy they have played locations from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to Cleveland Ohio. Their shows have drawn crowds to St. Andrews, The Filmore, and The Emerald Theatre, as well as various charity events and festivals.
