(M)ercurey was formed at Mt. St. Michel, France in 1993. It all begun as an idea to create Jean Michel Jarre covers. They did 3 concerts and produced 1 album with their own music. The initial members were: Johan Schurer, Una Wierstra, Jan Henriet and John van der Stap. In 1997 Marco van der Hoorn joined the band. In 2008 the band split up.
