클레오 (Cleo) was a 3-member South Korean girl group, comprised of members Kim Hana, Han Hyunjung (replaced Park Yeeun after the 1st album) and Jung Yebin (replaced Chae Eunjung after the 4th album). The group was formed amidst the immense success of girl groups S.E.S, Fin.K.L, and Baby V.O.X, and could easily be labeled a "follower" girl group. However, the girls did manage to gain high levels of popularity in their own way. All three members had solid singing abilities and beauty, and were skilled in dance as well. What made them especially different from other groups was their notably mature image, which appealed more to young men than it did to boys. Their debut album was a hit, and their pure image was enough to reel in many fans. Starting from the 2nd album, Park Yeeun left the group, Han Hyunjung was added, and they showed a more sexy and mature image. The title track, "모순," received much interest and popularity. Breaking the idea that they would not last as long as the other girl groups, the girls released their 3rd album in 2001 and landed another hit song in title track "속(束) ." In 2003 Cleo released a single consisting of their 4th album's title tracks "Fairy Tale" and "S.P.Y" and sold it at very low price of 13 cents. If the single did not release 50,000 copies the 4th album would not be released. However the girls reached the target and released their 4th album a few weeks after.
