There are several acts known as Kim Bum Soo. 1) Kim Bum Soo (also known as Astro Bits, 아스트로 비츠, bk, bk!) is a South Korean electronic musician born 1970. He studied music in Japan and won Ryuichi Sakamoto's Music Audition by J-Wave in 1996. He was part of Yoon Sang's band papermode that appeared in credits on Yoon Sang's 2nd album Part 2, but he went solo after Yoon Sang's enlistment and papermode's dissolution. In 1996 he released his solo album Guardian Angel under the name Kim Bum Soo. He released several albums under the name Astro Bits, and also participates in audio mastering under the name bk! for artists such as Park Jiyoon, Sunwoo Jung Ah, Stellar, YUKIKA, Ladies' Code, Casker and others. 2) 김범수 (Kim Bum Soo), born January 26, 1979, is a South Korean R&B and soul singer famous for his smooth vocals and emotive ballads. Particularly, he is noted for the song 보고싶다 (Bo go ship da), the title of which means 'I miss you' in English. This song became the theme song of Korean drama 천국의 계단 (Stairway to Heaven). Kim Bum Soo is the first Korean artist to make a mark on the North American music charts, with his song 'Hello Goodbye Hello' making the US Billboard chart in 2003. Soo decided upon pursuing a music career at the age of 20, inspired and encouraged after singing with the local church choir throughout his youth. At Seoul Institute of the Arts, Joongbu University, he majored in music. Shortly after graduating, Soo attended an audition, where he landed a recording
