惘闻 (Wangwen, Wang-wen) is a post-rock band formed in 1999 in Dalian, China. The band was first initiated by two guitarists, 谢玉岗 (Xie Yugang) and 耿鑫 (Geng Xin), who were crazy about the Smashing Pumpkins, and later joined by drummer 连江 (Lian jiang) who then brought along the band name 惘聞, representing the idea of an unknown band and insensibility to what others say. Bassist 铮子 (Zheng Zi) and keyboardist 张岩峰 (Zhang Yanfeng) were eventually added to the group, forming the current line up of the five person band.
