天照 (standard romanization Amaterasu, but the band seems to prefer Amaterase) is a Japanese band from Tokyo, formed in 2001. They describe their style as "Neo-Japanesque", combining elements of rock, electronic and industrial with traditional Japanese influences and Buddhist themes. Members: Vocals: 晃 (Akira), Guitar & Producing: 大祀 (Daishi) Akira left in January 2007, but Daishi took over the vocals and continued releasing material and touring under the name 天照(大祀soloproject).
