K’an (坎) is an experimental project from Rome, Italy, formed by Paolo Bellipanni (born in 1988). The project was born in early 2011, but it took two years for a proper emersion and for its first full length release. This time was used to produce a continuos mutation/evolution of K’an’s musical language, mainly because of the exploration of new musical territories, new inner needs and suggestions. Bandcamp page: http://kanmusic.bandcamp.com K’an takes its name from the I Ching’s hexagram no. 29 (which means: the Abyss). The whole philosophical path of the project is strongly influenced by C.G. Jung theories, cryptic mysticism and a visceral introspection inside the human soul, inside its struggles and shadows, underneath its desires of ascension and fall, rebirth and self destruction.
