NEGA, formerly written as ネガ, was a Japanese visual kei band that was active from 2004 to 2013. The final lineup of the band consisted of vocalist Jin (儿), guitarist SAN, bassist and backing vocalist Ray, and drummer and pianist Yuu (優). The band was formed in December 2004, initially as a duo comprising bassist Ray and vocalist Jin. However, their official activities did not commence until 2005. NEGA's first demo titled "Yoru ni Aru Kibou, Asa ni Kuru Zetsubou" (夜にある希望、朝に来る絶望。) was released on February 1. Shortly after, drummer Yu (優) joined the group, and they held their inaugural live performance on July 26, 2005. Following their feature on an omnibus album, NEGA released their first mini-album, "THE Faded Film of a Japanese Sadness," on January 25, 2006. Throughout their early years, the band had various temporary guitarists, including Marahiro (昌弘) and Kore (之), until the official addition of Hiroki (弘揮) on March 25, 2006. They released the single "Defection Deep Depression and..." on July 7 and welcomed their second guitarist, SAN, on October 23, 2006. NEGA joined UNDER CODE PRODUCTION on December 15, 2006. In 2007, they kicked off the year with the single "abase" on January 24, followed by "quadrangle" on February 21. The two mini-albums "dole" and "hole" were both released on March 14. On May 30, they released the single "「Utsu」" (「鬱」). However, in June 2007, guitarist Hiroki (弘揮) left the band due to family reasons, leaving NEGA as a four-piece group. His last
