Artist
The band „Šinobusi“ was founded in Novi Sad at the end of 2001. After months of playing, the band decided to dedicate itself to making its own music. The band believes that, being melancholically plain and having the wide and slow Danube, similar to the rhythm of Louisiana, Vojvodina is fertile ground to sow the seeds of blues. Distinguished from other blues themes in Serbia, this was the beginning of their musical authorship. Šinobusi experimented with the double bass and “tambura” (a kind of stringed instrument), playing Vojvodinian melodies in a blues style. Šinobusi made their first debut album in November 2003, in Komandant Adam Studio in Sremska Kamenica, Serbia. At the beginning of July 2005 , City Records record company released the album “Nekad jurimo kroz polja, a nekad stojimo u stanicama” (Sometimes we are travelling through the countryside, sometimes we are in the stations) There are eleven songs on the album: Down by the lake (an adaptation of the traditional Vojvodinian song), It hurts Me Too (an adaptation of the traditional American song It Hurts Me Too), and 9 more original composition. Šinobusi began to promote their album by performing at festivals, and on television and radio shows. Four videos were made for the songs Down by the lake, It hurts Me Too, When Magpies Stare at Me and In the Bottle produced by IOV Studio in Novi Sad. In November 2005, the band made a record in English, supported by Maja Rakić on backing vocals. The band performed on the Tubo
