1) Íris are a portuguese rock band that come from the town called Fuzeta, on Algarve province. Its members are Domingos on vocals and guitar, Marinho, also guitars and voice, Thierry on drums, Machado on guitar, Carlinhos on keyboards and voice, and finally João Ruano on keyboards. They launched in 1979. They have some arranged versions of some oldies like "House of the rising sun" and "Knockin' on Heavens Door" translated to the way of Algarve speech. 2) The Icelandic musician ÍRiS came from a classical instrumental background before studying and performing as a jazz singer, combining her vocal heritage with contemporary music. Today she has progressed into alternative pop music as a lyrical composer where the piano, drums, and harp play an important role while her voice, that has been described as colorful and rich, leads the music. On her debut album "PENUMBRA", ÍRiS explores various musical contrasts by mixing together traditional instruments such as cello and piano with more contemporary electronic sounds. As well as experimenting the full range of sounds available from both instruments and items found in everyday life. From this process the title of the album was born, "Penumbra", which stands for the region where complete shadow and illumination meet - where musical contrasts connect. https://irismusiciris.bandcamp.com/ http://irismusiciris.com/ User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
