Artist
Spanish Power Rock Trio very influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath or Deep Purple. Formed in late 1970 by Alberto López (drums), Enric Milián (bass) y Mario Balaguer (guitar). Previously Enric and Mario had been "backing musicians" of other artists (Tony Ronald, Georgie Dann), while Alberto had been the drummer of a sixties Freakbeat / Garage Rock band called Los Polares. In 1971 they recorded one single in the label ARIOLA ("No estoy bien" bw "Buscaré otra chica") helped by Tony Ronald but without any commercial repercussion, so they changed the band's name to Santabárbara, with a very commercial success in a soft rock style. Alberto died in 1977 and they disbanded circa 1980. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
