Artist
Émile Noblot (1908 - 1965) was a French composer, pianist and bandleader. He studied harmony and piano with Dupuis at the Conservatoire de Paris. In the interbellum he earned his living as a piano teacher and playing on French radio. In 1940 he became a prisoner of war and through the Red Cross he was allowed to organize a small orchestra to entertain his fellow prisoners. After the war he formed an 48 member orchestra for radio broadcasts, and in 1953 he was the leader of the big band Émile Noblot et son grand orchestre. As a pianist he accompanied the accordionist René Joly. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
