Another son of Jamaica’s soil is set to shine internationally. £ound $terling, who has been etching a name for himself on the dancehall circuit is now poised to take his talents to the world, in true Jamaican style. He was born Frankinstine Sylvester Lewin in Spanish Town, St Catherine under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius in 1980. His birth was miraculous as his mother, heavy with child and 15 years old at the time, was traveling from rural Jamaica to the capital city after visiting a relative. Upon reaching the Old capital of Spanish Town, the woman’s water broke and she was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital where £ound $terling drew his first gasp of air. His father, wanting his son to contribute greatly in the field of science, name him after the Dr Frankenstein, made popular by the movie industry. But little did this man know that his son would evolve into a scientist of musical proportions. His penchant for entertainment began at a tender age. Just 10 years old, £ound $terling, began knocking pans and anything he could find that would soothe his passion for the infectious beat that pounds within every Jamaican’s heart.
