{ } (Empty Set) was formed in the summer of 2008 in a series of recording sessions in Nathan Friedman's outdoor studio/bedroom in Kamloops, British Columbia. They have only met sporadically since then, due to geographical limitations, but have a surprisingly large output from their relatively few sessions. In 2009 they began performing in Kamloops venues like The Leisure Loft (Mike Turner's Studio) and The Little Big House, and, at first opening for local and touring punk bands (most notably Young Oppression), proceeded to blow the minds of hundreds of local punks, metal-heads, stoners, hipsters, students, and even a few musicians (!). This culminated in December of 2009 when they were the sole bill for a three-and-a-half hour show at the Loft. { } is only able to perform occassionally (and often only in the form of "The { } Trio" due to Nathan's living in Victoria during the school year), so look out for upcoming shows!
