distopia was formed in 2005, in Athens Greece by Nick P. Inspired by the urban culture, combining both social and occult themes, creating a sound that could be described as dark ambient, industrial , power electronics, noise and last but not least as cinematic... distopia released a demo in summer 2006 and joined Rottingham net label, one of the first net labels in Greece at that time. The demo named "Non Entity" was re-released in February 2007 by Rottingham. In 2007 there were two more releases, "Timescape EP" and "Research On Human Dementia", a collaboration with italian noise artist TSIDMZ. In late 2007 Rottingham became defunct and distopia with labelmate Gas Masked Lestat joined forces to create Species Productions. His two latest releases are a split album with Gas Masked Lestat and "The Somnambulist" EP. The split with Gas Masked Lestat was the first release by Species. "The Somnambulist" was released by Format Noise in a form of digital download and re-released by Species in slim digipack CD-R. At the same time, "Research On Human Dementia" was re-released by Species in slim digipak CD-R as well. In 2012 came the latest release by distopia, 'first sequence', which was released online by Kalpamantra label in collaboration with Species Productions and Hesperus Records. Species productions released a jewelcase CD-R version of the release.
