Datum, often stylized as //datum, is a one-man-project based in Ohio, USA. //datum was started in July of 2015, but didn't see its first release until December of 2017, with PRACTICE // SESSION ONE, later re-titled to prototype 01, an album built to showcase the beginning steps into music production. His earlier musical style makes heavy use of gritty synths and "glitchy" or otherwise dated-sounding instrumentation, but can occasionally shift gears into more acoustic sounds such as guitar and piano. Although he is the only consistent member of //datum, his music also contains many samples and vocal tracks contributed by someone working in collaboration. Visually, //datum's style also tends to focus on the more "glitchy" side of his works, utilizing some type of distortion to create a look of corrupt data or something similar.
