Zeitgeist Zero's self titled debut album was released in Februrary 2005 to international critical acclaim. Reviews: "Music for the Matrix Generation? Well, it could be, and those are my 1st thoughts as I start to listen to the debut album from this committed Leeds act. This is definitely an album for the next generation of Goths we see in our clubs today – there are no old-school influences here...‘Decay’ - a catchy electronic/guitar based number, which could easily become a ZZ theme. Instantly accessible this one, and enough to enrich any dance floor. This melts into ‘Outside’ – a deeper and stronger number, both emotionally and musically. I have to admit to thinking this is one of the strongest tracks on the album – well balanced, and some good lyrical hooks. It’s tracks like this, which will make people sit up and take note of the talent behind ZZ. These guys are here for keeps!...‘Kill your Idols’ is a good mix of genteel vocals and hard-edged music. The layering on the vocals works well in creating a thoughtful mood on this track. Nicely done. ‘Tombstone Tourist’ is a great powerhouse of a track – hard enough to stomp its way over you if you are not quick enough to get out of it’s way. Pounding beats, hard edged guitars, and great vocals lead the assault here. This is another ZZ anthem in the making. ‘Pins and Needles’ is one of those tracks that you swear you’ve heard somewhere else before.
