Album
'Ypres' was the debut full-length release by UK Progressive Metal solo artist Returning We Hear the Larks. Larks was among the first bands labelled as part of the 'Djent' scene, and as this trend blew up, the project gained a significant underground following. 'Ypres' was released on September 7th 2010 and boasted over 1000 (free) downloads in its first night. After spending a few weeks in Belgium in 2009, Jak Noble (RWHTL) was powerfully moved by what he saw on the battlefields and memorials of the First World War. He chose to immediately end the project that he had been working on at the time (Sins of the Watchmen), in order to form a new project to tell the story of the First World War. He quickly released the 'Langemark' EP, an instrumental album featuring samples of interviews with war veterans, detailing their experiences. 'Ypres' eventually followed this release, telling the stories of the Great War as Noble had set out to achieve.
