We Are the Nightmare is the third studio album by American melodic death metal band Arsis. It was released on April 15th, 2008 via Nuclear Blast. This is also the only record to feature guitarist Ryan Knight before being replaced by Nick Cordle in 2008. All songs were written by frontman James Malone. The album's title track was featured in the video game Rock Band 2 as downloadable content via the Rock Band Network store. Recording on the album began on the September 3rd, 2007 at Planet Z Studios in Massachusetts and ended on October 19th of that same year. It was produced by Zeuss, who had previously worked with Shadows Fall and Hatebreed. Malone had commented that the music was much more varied than anything they had ever written at that point.
