WAY2GEEKED is Kankan’s sophomore studio album, following up his October 2021 debut album, RR. Kankan first teased the album on November 27, 2021, when he took to Twitter to repost an Instagram story announcing that a new EP would be on the way, along with a title. He then revealed the project’s cover art on January 16, 2022, along with teasing a February release date, which ended up being unfulfilling. On January 29, 2022, Kankan gave an update that the album was 15% completed. Kankan then followed up on Twitter that the album was 60% completed a week later. On February 17, 2022, Kankan announced that the project was then completed. After continuing to tease said album, Kankan released a teaser EP, ##B4W2G, on June 24, 2022, to further promote the album. The EP consisted of five tracks that were recorded during the WAY2GEEKED era. On July 14, 2022, Kankan teased on Twitter that the album would be released on July 21, 2022, however that ended up not being the case. After keeping quiet on any updates for the album, on September 6, 2022, Kankan released the album’s lead single, “Can’t Cap.” On September 27, 2022, Kankan took to social media announcing the album’s release date and tracklist, revealing LUCKI as the album’s sole feature.
