Watch the Throne is a collaborative studio album by American rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West. It was released on August 8, 2011, through Roc-A-Fella Records, Roc Nation, and Def Jam Recordings. Prior to this release, the duo had collaborated on various singles, with West also serving as a producer on Jay-Z’s projects. Initially planned as a five-song EP, the project expanded into a full-length album. The album features guest appearances from Frank Ocean, The-Dream, Beyoncé, and Mr Hudson, alongside posthumous vocals by soul legends Otis Redding and Curtis Mayfield. Additional vocal contributions include Kid Cudi, Seal, Justin Vernon, Elly Jackson, Connie Mitchell, Charlie Wilson, and Pete Rock, among others.
