“Untitled Is Hard Enough” is the first and probably the most intimate material you will hear from The Protege. This EP represents the average Joe and a grassroots movement to get Joe into stardom. The title of the release was chosen because its a long hard process to record a project, regardless of the number of tracks. Its hard to be creative with hip hop when you know its easier to just be generic. Its hard for people to be themselves. The Protege wanted to let it be known that he is a nobody just like his peers but can obviously be exceptional for moments at a time. Each song is made with the listener in mind first. And even ‘thats’ hard when you yourself forget what its like to be a listener/fan of hip hop. Its an album that allowed the Protege to say whatever he wanted, with none of the restrictions that come with making a group project. During the finalization of the EP, he decided to say the hell with a title. Call it what you want. Untitled is hard enough. The EP was produced entirely by Sketch the Cataclysm and features fellow Phenetiks members Roc 1, Deto 22 and DJ SirCumference, as well as upcoming emcee Silentuch.
