Most recently, the song won a Filmfare Award for Mr. Sirivennela Sitarama Sastri for best lyrics. So, who’s behind this award winning song? Anil R! Though his debut movie as a music director - Sambhavami Yuge Yuge was a flop, the songs in the movie showcased Anil R’s extraordinary music skills. The album sold over 200,000 copies in Andhra Pradesh alone, which is a rare feat for any new music director. This is when ‘Krish’ struck up a particularly close relationship with Anil R, and the combined creativity led to the highly successful ‘Gamyam’. In the context of his work, Anil R’s songs have style and his albums, albeit few, reflect it. Though there was a small gap after Gamyam, Anil R is returning to the spotlight with new songs and new movies. Just listen to his songs, and it wouldn’t be very difficult to see where this creative young music composer can go from here.
