Christopher Stark's "Unfinished Basement" series highlights demos made in various spaces around Grand Rapids, Michigan. Volume 1 contains songs written and recorded within one session as inspired by Stark's friend/collaborator Dustin Anderson (Cedar Rock Basement Program, GrrRoPolis, Antilogical). Most songs feature Stark on relatively all instruments, with Dustin Anderson (AKA DustAC) playing dirty organ on "This Divide (On the Back of Love)" and drum kit on "The Smell of Burning Leaves". Deezal Christiansen (Drums) and Kristi Prindle (Vocals) are also featured on the track "Change Your Mind".
