U is the third studio album by American musician underscores. It was released on March 20, 2026, under Mom + Pop Music and Corporate Rockmusic. The album was supported by three singles, “Music” and “Do It” in 2025 and “Tell Me (U Want It)” weeks before the album. At only 9 tracks, U features a shift back to EDM influenced sounds compared to the pop rock and folk of her previous record Wallsocket. underscores noted the influence of liminal spaces on the album, describing it as ‘Music for malls, airports, hotels, supermarkets. I wrote these songs for U.’ Lyrically, the album does away with the grand narrative structure of Wallsocket in favour of a more concise and "escapist" writing style, delving into the complexities of romantic and interpersonal relationships over the backdrop of a celebrity lifestyle. With no features, the entire album was written, produced, mixed and mastered by underscores herself, with the exception of “Music” which was mastered by Heba Kadry.
