TURN OFF THE LIGHT is the second mixtape by Kim Petras, released on October 1, 2019, through her own label, BunHead. Originally intended to be released in two volumes, it was ultimately released as a full-length album, combining the eight tracks from the first volume with nine new songs. The album received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its dark, club-infused sound, and was praised for its horror-themed elements, making it a fitting soundtrack for Halloween. Critics highlighted tracks like "There Will Be Blood", "Wrong Turn" and "Death by Sex" for their catchy, spooky vibes. The production, which included blood-curdling beats and demonic synths, and Petras' vocal performance, were particularly lauded. Following its release, Petras announced a third installment for 2021, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, she released the single "Party Till I Die", which was later named one of the best LGBTQ+ songs of 2020 by Billboard.
