Hailing from the cold entrails of Montréal, Québec, Canada, Tunguska Mammoth has been emerging slowly but surely in the Canadian metal scene. This eponymous, and first, album has been released on October 1st, 2013, and deals with a very specific lyrical theme : the invasion of Earth by mammoths who have been re-awakened from their slumber, and are hell-bent on the destruction of mankind. Some of the recording for this album was done at Wild Studio in St-Zénon, Québec, Canada, where bands such as Voivod and A Perfect Murder have had sessions in the past. It was mixed by the band's drummer, Pierre-Hugues Rondeau, and mastered by Pierre Rémillard, owner of Wild Studio. While grabbing elements from many different styles and bands, Tunguska Mammoth still proposes a healthy combination of riffs, grooves, and growls, which establishes their stoner/sludge metal sound.
