In July 2003, Serving Suggestion recorded 'Try Whistling This' with producer Anton Van Schalkwyk and engineer Paris Lucas at Paris Studios in Fish Hoek, Cape Town, South Africa. Their first full-length release is a very fresh cross between melodic punk and modern rock. The opening track 'Pursue' has an excellent riff which continues through the song. 'Walk Free' has a more punk feel to it. 'Musical chairs' continues with the punk feel and is a good song. This song I think could be quite nice live! 'Invisible friend' brings back the rock feel to the mix and is a solid melodic track. 'Sky is Falling' is, in my mind, the second radio friendly song on the CD and is a good run up to 'Today is Your Day' which is the first release off the CD. It`s a good choice as a first release and is another solid track with a great balance heavy guitars and good vocals. 'Arbitrary Mosquito' also has a tight, melodic punk riff which this band is `famous` for. 'Grateful' has grinding guitars. 'Home', the final track on the CD, gets the other band members involved in backing vocals. 'Try Whistling This' is a good CD overall and shows professionalism and real talent for this fresh young band.
