Outtake for Liner notes: When as a three-year-old, I received the present of a snare drum, a high-hat and a ride cymbal from my godfather, the renowned Danish jazz drummer Alex Riel, I quickly discovered that the sounds emanating from the cymbals and the drums were opening up a wholly special universe for me – a universe that was better than even the very best fairytale and a universe that I would come to immerse myself in more and more as I was growing up". "On the first of the CDs in the present collection, I have been working in close collaboration with the laptop musician Jakob Riis on a number of improvised and composed drum solos which were subsequently re-worked through different kinds of processes. The governing idea here has been that the electronic sound is generated exclusively through further adaptations of the actual sounds produced by the acoustic percussion instruments. In addition to my fascination with electro-acoustic worlds, I have in the course of the last few years been recording a number of duo and trio sessions. From the music made in these sessions, I have chosen some of the ‘takes’ that are especially significant for me and I have gathered these together for the other two discs in the collection.
