The Reivers, originally Zeitgeist, were a well-known Austin, TX band centered upon songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist John Croslin; vocalist/guitarist Kim Longacre; bassist Kelly Bell, later replaced by Cindy Toth; and drummer Joey Shuffield, later replaced by Garrett Williams. First release EP "Zeitgeist" (DB 76) on db Records in 1985; first LP "Translate Slowly" (DB 75) 1985. The band changed name to The Reivers (from the title of the William Faulkner novel) in 1987 after a copyright dispute. That year also saw the release of the band's Second LP "Saturday" (CDP 7 46926 2) on Capitol label, which received considerable college-format play and critical acclaim. In 1989 the Reivers released final Capitol LP "End of the Day" (CDP 7 90119 2), followed in 1991 by the band's final LP release "Pop Beloved" (DB 153) and its final live show at the Cannibal Club, Austin TX. The Reivers reunited in 2008 as an Austin live act called Right Or Happy. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
