Kirk released his debut smooth jazz CD in 2005. CNET's download.com reported over 100,000 downloads in the first year after its release. The single, "Jet Stream", was picked up by Muzak, and has been heard around the world. "Windchaser" was used as the title track of a documentary film about the Hands-On Art Studio, an art studio in Canberra, Australia devoted to the education of handicapped children.
