This EP focused on the quartet's strengths as a rhythmic-oriented band with a versatile lineup of musicians. With each member serving as vocalists, the band flexed their musical muscles on this six-song disc. The disc starts off with the trimmed-down "Hey, Nice Sweatpants," which seamlessly gives way to "Grammar or Gravity?" the second track. Bassist Kris Kaczor serves as vocalist on the intense and fiery third song, "Seahorses, Compact Cars." The intensity is turned up on "Your Union Rep," with Sami Jano's manic drumming adding a fierce backdrop. On most of the tracks, Ian Cartwright and Ryan Moon alternate on spoken-vocals over increasingly agitated instrumentation. "Don't Forget the Turn Signal" is one of the band's strongest songs, with a brutal opening, before the music quickly becomes more delicate, as Kaczor sings over Moon's rigid vocals. The disc ends with "Ken Doesn't Want to Type," an eloquent and painfully short closer. The This Is Adelaide EP showcases a band that called it quits at the top of their game. The disc was recorded in March 2000 at Chicago's Kingsize Sound Labs Studios with Ken Sluiter. Suburban Sprawl Records released the disc later in 2000.
