Album
"There Is Nothing Left to Lose" is the third studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on November 2, 1999, through Roswell and RCA Records. It marked the first studio appearance by drummer Taylor Hawkins and is often regarded as stylistically distinct from the band’s earlier work, incorporating a softer and more experimental sound. Dave Grohl described it as his favorite Foo Fighters album, characterizing it as melody-focused and noting the relaxed nature of the recording process. The album was recorded by Grohl, Hawkins, and bassist Nate Mendel in the basement of Grohl’s home in Alexandria, Virginia. "There Is Nothing Left to Lose" won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2001, representing the band’s first Grammy win. Foo Fighters later received the same award for three of their next four studio albums, "One by One", "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace", and "Wasting Light". The album was the band’s first to be fully released and marketed by RCA Records following their departure from Capitol Records after the release of "The Colour and the Shape" (1997). Their two previous studio albums, originally distributed by Capitol, were subsequently distributed by RCA.
