The first album by the The Tim Ware Group, eponymously called "The Tim Ware Group" and released in 1980 on Kaleidoscope Records. The TWG — composer Tim Ware (mandolin), Bob Alekno (guitar), John Tenney (violin - replaced by David Balakrishnan on the TWG's second album "Shelter From The Norm"), Sharon O’Connor (‘cello) and Ken Miller (bass) . This is instrumental folk music, with classical, jazz and world-music influences, featuring the mandolin-based compositions of Tim Ware. The mandolin quartet "Spiral Moons" features: David Grisman - Mandolin Tim Ware - Mandolin Darol Anger - Mandola Mike Marshall - Mandocello Included here is a live version of "Spiral Moons" featuring: Tim Ware - Mandolin Mark O'Connor - Mandolin Darol Anger - Mandola Mike Marshall - Mandocello This was recorded at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, California, in August 1980.
