THE SOUTH WIND album has been a few years in the making! The first songs were written and initial project planning begun in tandem with Jed Marum’s work on the sound track for a Lone Chimney film called, THE ROAD TO VALHALLA. The two projects were worked on parallel tracks and both topically cover the era around the American Civil War. Both projects draw from history and take a “looking back view,” as might be told by the men and women who lived through the period. The album's musical style varies from Celtic roots to American folk and folk/blues. On it you’ll hear resophonic, standard and DADGAD guitars, banjo and banjola, whistles, fiddles, harmonica and highland pipes. You’ll hear mostly original with some traditional songs or tunes and you’ll hear choral, Folk/Gospel singing. The album offers a wide variety of musical content. The music and performances are beautiful. This is an album to be played over and over, anytime, anywhere. THE SOUTH WIND has an overall strong South Positive message, with its tales springing from real historical events or thoughts of individuals, as remembered from diaries, memoirs and histories.
