Debut album "The Pier" released March 21st, 2016. Audio systems, electronic or acoustic, are like human systems. Narrow tolerance zones, edging onto border areas where things are no longer the same. Temperature & pressure, sound & vision. Raise the core body temperature by just 2 degrees, & already we are entering these areas. Raise it a further 2 degrees & human systems begin to break down. Only a very subtle overloading or underpowering in the audio system is required to produce nonlinear processes, which gradually go beyond our learned tolerance for sound. What is Musical. What is Listenable. In drama there is a fascination for how human beings behave at the limits of their tolerance. Our music has a fascination for the same liminal zones of sound. We collaborate with irregularities. The things that create themselves at the edges. Ultimately, what keeps returning to us is the thing itself: the image of the Pier. The outer limit of human extent, our furthest encroachment on the depth. The boundary past which reality fails to be us, & starts to be something else. The space opens onto mystery. No instruments, no clothing, no surfaces. We have only what we arrived with. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
