The Pier is an album of solo piano improvisations taken from a session at Hype Studios in Liverpool, England. Engineered by Andy Wilson and mastered by John Hodgson, the title was inspired by a line in the Red House Painters song "Uncle Joe". The cover photograph is by Juan Gnecco.
