about this album

The EP manages to capture The Migrations sometimes eclectic, always restless spirit over the course of its five tracks. There’s something nestled in here for everyone. There’s the Kingswood meets The Stooges punch of ‘Overtime’, the Tom Waits wistful pop (with a hint of Balkan) that is ‘If There’s A Heaven’, the Beatles via You Am I sonic detour that is ‘Out To Play’, the regimented Velvet crunch of ‘Crumbling Down’, and of course live favourite ‘Messin’ With My Heart’, a boy/girl duet in the classic tradition of famous past couplings like Hazlewood/Sinatra, Hathaway/Flack, and maybe even Rogers/Parton. credits released 13 July 2013 The Band: Matt Davidson – aka Mildsparrow – guitar, lead vocals, moody with a chance of fish Christian Bianco – aka The Local – bassist (ex- bassist of Space Like Alice) Eliana Deur Davidson – aka Sugar Bumps – backing vocals, doo wop, percussion, melodian, sunshine Paul Spurling – aka The Kid – keyboardist, composer, composed Cate DeCarteret - aka Fujiyama Mama, backing vocals, shimmy shake, percussion, melodian, coastal Pia Richardson – aka Wanderlust Woman, drums, ringoism, heartbeat Recorded by Christian Bianco at Easy Tiger Studios.
