"The Man Who" is the second studio album by the Scottish rock band Travis. It was released on 24 May 1999 through Independiente. The album marked a shift in musical direction for the band, moving away from the more rock-oriented sound of their debut album "Good Feeling" (1997). Four singles were issued from the release: "Writing to Reach You", "Driftwood", and the top-ten hits "Why Does It Always Rain on Me?" and "Turn". "The Man Who" initially received mixed critical reception and modest sales. Following the commercial success of "Why Does It Always Rain on Me?" and the band’s appearance at the 1999 Glastonbury Festival, the album gained wider attention. It subsequently spent a total of nine weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart and contributed to the band’s international recognition. Retrospective critical assessments have generally been more favorable. According to Concord Music, the album had sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide by 2018. In 2010, it was among ten albums nominated by the Brit Awards for best British album of the previous 30 years, an award ultimately given to "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" by Oasis.
