Album
This is the first album by Pennsylvania indie-rock band The Long Afternoon. Released in 2006, nearly 20 years after the band first started playing, "The Luxury Problem" garnered enthusiastic reviews in outlets as diverse as The Big Takeover, Jefitoblog/PopDose, and High Times. Given the band's penchant for creating room for multiple interpretations of their work, it's not surprising the album is often misinterpreted as being largely about failed romances. Much of the album in fact addresses themes of childhood and aging, with the title track specifically detailing the condition of guitarist Eston Martz's father at the time of his death in 2002. "The Luxury Problem" was followed in 2009 by the band's second album, the 16-track "Signifying Nothing."
