The Longest Night LP was launched in Hobart at the Brisbane Hotel on Friday the 17th of October and is available at Tommy Gun Records (Hobart) and select boutiques. Review by JARRAD BEVAN in The Mercury, October 31, 2008 10:41pm: "HOT Hobart alt-rockers All Fires The Fire are captivating and powerful. The Longest Night is a self-funded, recorded, mixed and produced debut nine-song album - and it is a ripper. They artfully incorporate elements of Talking Heads, Nick Cave and Joy Division into a tasty brew. Fallen Lines has a post-punk NYC vibe with agitated, choppy and spaced-out guitars. Edinburgh begins delicately at first with a bass line throbbing behind restrained piano. Somehow the song morphs into a riot inducing cacophony of wails and horns. The Longest Night avoids the trappings of recording on a slim budget. Actually, it sounds great - crisp and clear. In turn, this has given the song writing and instrumentation room to breathe.
