What’s refreshing about Halo Stereo is that their music goes beyond typical rock ‘n’ roll clichés of sex, women, broken relationships and partying. Vocalist, Andrew Fry’s songwriting brings up deep feelings of desolation, hope and salvation on Invisible War. Each song you can really grab mentally, making it more than simply ear-candy. It gave the album a unifying feel of angst with both highs and lows, expressed by the album’s artwork. -University Link Magazine, May '10 Halo Stereo is the face and sound of contemporary Progressive music, combining classic influences with every facet of modernity — technological advances, emotional detachment, bug-eyed wonder, misty-eyed nostalgia. Without drifting into meandering half-hour excursions up their own asses, Halo Stereo makes exciting and concise songs that quiver with Indie Rock energy and astonish with Prog bombast. -CityBeat.com User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
