Album
The Information is the tenth studio album by American musician Beck, released on October 3, 2006, by Interscope Records. Produced by longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich, the album combines elements of alternative rock, hip hop, folk, and electronic music. Beck began recording The Information in 2003, around the same time as his previous album Guero (2005), but decided to delay its release to allow further experimentation and refinement. Musically, The Information spans a wide range of styles, from the funky rhythms and rap-like delivery of “Cellphone’s Dead” and “Nausea” to the introspective, melodic tones of “Think I’m in Love” and “Movie Theme.” Lyrically, the record deals with themes of information overload, modern isolation, and self-reflection in an age of media saturation. Beck and Godrich recorded much of the album in London an
