In 2012, Pete compiled all the tracks finished all the tracks that he felt was his most enduring work and gathered them into a commemorative collection he called "The Forest" and released it for free. This was everything No Eyes Rat was meant to be and sound like. Lapse is about rejecting notions of emotions and relationships in order to feed the drive for ambition. Damned, one of No Eyes Rat's earliest songs, is about refusing to let religious dogma dictate logic. Boxesque is a song about the seemingly omnipotent power of population control through television. Omnia Vanitas is about the futility of vanity and life. It is also interesting to note that the album also has two instrumental tracks that emphasize opposite qualities... Teya is soft and dreamy, while A Lesson In Percussion is abrasive and nightmarish. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
