Album
Fresh out of the metropolis that is the city of Manchester comes the new ganja-rap crew ‘the Bluntskins’ made up of rappers Bill Sykes and Cheech alongside producer Pro P. Bill and Cheech, far from your average everyday stoners, spit over thirteen originally produced tracks featuring some of Manchester’s best current hip hop artists culminating in a sixteen man posse cut reflecting the crew’s huge web of affiliation throughout the city. The album kick starts with ‘roll up’, a full frontal assault on the audio canals that introduces the listener to the Saliva-laced world of the Bluntskins. The beat bangs hard in contrast to the second track ‘smoke solo’, an ode to the more selfish folk of the cannabis community who would rather light up a menthol Richmond than pass the zoot to the next man. D’lyfa Reilly steps up on ‘Bombdabomb’ annihilating P’s loop with a shit-storm of a verse that sets the tone for the rest of the LP. ‘Mellow highs’ brings the flow of the album back down to an Indica-like high mellowing out the vibes before Pete Cannon gets to show off his vocoder skills on ‘Smoke Dat Piff’ followed by the monstrous ‘Manny’s Most Blunted’ featuring Ape cult’s rising star Black Josh and Wordz of Wizdom, both members of MOSH team. ‘Charis’ hits like a frying pan to the face switching up the tempo prompting the Skins to go back to back with affiliates Goshin and Spider Jaroo over a slow paced beat strewn with haunting keys and a catchy chorus. Continuing the trend of jacking
