Album
Released 2005 Produced by Gentry Morris and Jeffrey Joslin The sophomore release from Gentry Morris sees the writer taking a distinctly different approach to his writing. The songs are more mature and delivered by a singer who has grown in the two years since the last release. The entire album was recorded in a small home studio in Smyrna, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. Morris teamed up with long time friend and fellow musician Jeffrey Joslin to produce the album themselves. The team approached the album knowing that they did not want a perfectly polished, perfectly mixed, recording. Morris says that " I feel like one of the most beautiful things about recordings are the little mistakes that don't get scrapped and re-recorded. Hearing someone in the background cough or a door open adds to the honesty of the recording for me. It's like actually being in the room while the recording is being made." The result of this approach was "The Bare Bones and Bad Ideas EP". User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
