Eric IQ defines a whole new chapter in American music without the attention of the mass music industry knowing it's going on right under their noses. This is definitely a classic recording crafted by the artist himself, " The African American ". The title speaks for it self. Pan African edutainment at it's purest, giving one the true story and feeling of the Black African American experience. The album is not a made up concoction of make believe fairy tales this is 400 years of undeniable history and facts that will leave you dancing and singing. What really grabs my attention on the this album is the way Eric IQ keeps the classic Afro Beats and Afro Pop sounds and merges them with urban Hip Hop elements such as beats and rhymes and he make them sound timeless. I asked Eric IQ why the sudden change in music genres and vocal style and his reply was " This is not something new to me I have always been conscious with my music but its wasn't until I went to a Broadway show here in New York called Fela produced by Jay -Z and Will Smith that sparked a change in me, for an example, I myself was looking for the perfect beat as Afrika Bambaata of The Zulu Nation said with the Soul Sonic Force. I looked and listened everywhere but it wasn't until I seen Fela Kuti live in spirit and heard the Afro Beat sound once again live, because that wasn't the first time I heard his music or Afro Beat, I was just completely moved.
