'Tale Spin' (released 2006 on Sunbeam Records) is the debut full-length album from The Story, a British father and son duo comprising Martin and Tom Welham. The elder of which was part of legendary 1960's psych-folk band Forest. The album is all-acoustic and melodic throughout with strong songwriting at its heart. Guitars, keyboards and hand percussion accompany the airy vocals and plentiful harmonies. Both members contribute songs, share singing duties and play various instruments. The band released a rare 12" split vinyl LP with US alt-folksters Whysp in 2005 called 'The Dawn is Crowned'. In 2007, The Story released their follow up to Tale Spin entitled 'Arcane Rising', also on Sunbeam Records. It was a more intimate, less structured set of songs, that delved into the subconscious.
