"Taaie Bardoeling" (2024) is the second EP released by up-and-coming Rotterdam legend Nyke. With 6 tracks and spanning over 15 minutes, it's his longest and most refined EP to date. In contrast with "Professioneel Aankutten", where the artist playfully alludes to his laissez-faire attitude towards music production within the title of the work itself, "Taaie Bardoeling" reflects on the artist's growing struggle with the realities of the music industry as his "Aankutten" persona makes room for a more focussed and driven one. This is evident from the first and last track from the EP, labelled "Stapje Terug" en "Verstand op Nul", demonstrating the artist's reflection on previous experiences, and the determination to confidently advance in life despite of any uncertainties. This point is further demonstrated by the inclusion of NKW, his previous artist persona, on "Stapje Terug", while "Verstand Op Nul" recruits other long-time members of the 91 crew, Oompie Justin and Dubbel Di, thus replacing his doubts with confident allies.
