Taped between November 2021 and June 2022, Swivel by Swivel has been one of the most anticipated albums in the underground pop scene. Birthed from demos from the summer of 2021, Swivel's first album draws heavily from the works of Brian Wilson, with added comedy from his young mind. "A Trip To Subway", the lead single off of this album, is the 2nd song the artist ever wrote, with the first being Morning Meadow. All tracks are played off of acoustic instruments, with uses of washboards, jungle bells, toy drums, and other instruments uncommonly used in pop music making an appearance. Many songs were recorded on short notice, such as "If You Said To Me" which was recorded twice, once for this album, and the day before for a soundtrack record involving two other people. "I Like Broccoli" had mainly improvised lyrics, since the name for the song was intended to be a placeholder which was never replaced. The song also makes reference to Van Morrison's 2021 song "Why Are You Facebook", which was an inside with his friends at the time of recording. "Waterfall" is an instrumental that almost didn't make the cut due to Swivel fearing that it would be too similar to "Wind Chimes" and "Child is the Father of the Man" until it was set to a poem. Swivel has described said poetry as "idk man he just had the urge to scoop out all of the water for years", when confronted with confusion over said poem. "Morning Meadow" started as 3 demos in the summer of 2021, with the 2nd being the only time
